Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 18, 2026

WearShot (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is operated by Markus Hammerschmid. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the WearShot app (“App”).

1. Information We Collect

Photos and Images

When you use the virtual try-on feature, you provide photos from your camera or photo library. These photos may contain your face or the faces of other people.

Important — Face Data: WearShot does not perform facial recognition, identity verification, biometric identification, face tracking, or emotion detection. Faces in your photos are incidentally present because you upload personal photos. We do not extract biometric identifiers from any image. The visual appearance of a face may be preserved in the AI-generated output because the goal of the feature is to show you wearing an outfit — not to analyze or identify you.

Photos are transmitted to our AI processing service solely to generate the requested outfit visualization result. We do not store, retain, or share your photos beyond what is necessary to fulfill your request.

Usage Data

If you opt in during onboarding, we collect anonymized usage data to improve the App — including feature interactions, generation counts, and navigation events. This data is processed by PostHog and stored on servers located in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). No personally identifiable information is included. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy.

Purchase Information

If you subscribe to WearShot Premium, purchases are processed through the Apple App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat may collect your App Store receipt and subscription state. We do not have access to your payment details.
See RevenueCat’s privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

Crash Reports

If the App crashes or encounters an unexpected error, anonymized crash data (including device type, OS version, and a stack trace) may be automatically sent to Sentry to help us diagnose and fix the issue. No photos, names, or personally identifiable information are included in crash reports.

Name (Optional)

During onboarding, you may enter your first name. This is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Third-Party AI Processing

Uploaded images are securely transmitted to Google Gemini API (a service provided by Google LLC) solely for the purpose of generating outfit visualization results. Google processes these images in accordance with its own privacy policy and usage policies.

See Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

We also share data with:

4. Data Retention

Photos you submit for try-on are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers after the result is returned. Generated images are saved locally on your device only, unless you explicitly share them.

We may retain minimal technical metadata (not images) for a limited period to support abuse prevention and service integrity.

5. Your Rights

You may:

6. Allowed Usage

You may only upload photos of yourself or images for which you have explicit permission. Do not upload photos of other people without their consent. WearShot is intended solely for personal outfit and styling visualization.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical safeguards to protect your data during transmission and processing. Images are sent over encrypted connections. We work with service providers that maintain appropriate security standards.

8. Children’s Privacy

WearShot is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
